Sermon Titbits

God is able to make all grace abound towards us. He has played His part by making grace available to us and in abundance. He expects us to receive His grace in order for us to reign in this life. 2 Peter 3:18 states “But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Him be glory both now and forever, Amen”. Peter is saying we should give increase to grace. It is our responsibility to grow in God’s grace. In 2 Peter 1:2, Peter greets the church saying grace and peace be multiplied unto you.  We all have the grace of God working for us, yet it is safe to say that some Christians are functioning in higher levels of grace than others.  Grace is more than ‘unmerited favor’. Grace refers to a divine influence on our inward man (spirit man), manifested outwardly for all to see. God deposits or impresses His divine influence in us through His word and by the Holy Spirit.

God expects us to conduct ourselves orderly in his house (I Tim 3:14). We will consider three aspects of Church meetings: prayer time (includes praise and worship), time of God’s word and seed offering time.

In Gen. 2: 18 God told Adam not to eat of the tree of good and evil and that he will surely die the day he eats of it.  It wasn’t a physical but a spiritual death. But Jesus was a worthy sacrifice (1 Pet.1: 18-21).  Today we are saved, and as Jesus said to Thomas when he doubted His resurrection, “we are blessed for believing” (John 20:29).
